A Message About the Corn Festival
The Corn Festival Committee wishes to thank everyone for the wonderful cooperation shown last year to make the 1st Annual Corn Festival such a great success. We have been busy since least years event to make this years festival even bigger and better. Listening to all the comments made last year, we are trying to improve all areas possible.
One of the areas of concern was that folks wanted more area to obtain food. Since we are going to use that Davis Street Park as the entrance to the Corn Maze and other kid’s games, we would like to have food and drink available there. Also, it was suggested that we have more food on the West/North side of the bridge at the Y. So this means that we now have 3 areas of food for concessions. We sure could use two food stands for each group on town to make this wish possible.
We would also remind you of the ongoing float competition for the parade. Last years parade was toted as one of the best in the area in years. Let’s help keep this reputation!
In order to advertise our festival to all the outlying areas we need funds, and one of the projects is a Chinese Auction. We thought that if each church/organization could make up a specialty basket to place in the auction, it would be a good way for the group to be involved and help our community.
We would ask you to talk to your groups and let us know as soon as possible what you can provide for this years Corn Festival (August 17, 5pm-8pm and August 18th, 10am-7pm). The contact number for any information on these items is 563-4936.
